If you’re a cardholder of the Goldman Sachs Apple credit card you can enroll in their ” Customer Assistance Program ” and skip paying your March payment without penalty or interest accrual. Cardholders received an email, which you can read here, that was shared on Reddit, that allows customers to enroll in the program by clicking a button intra email. Goldman stated that over 10k people have enrolled in the program. The Fed announced today that unemployment could spike to 32% before it normalizes post Covid, and I would suspect that many issuers are negotiating a way to minimize charge-offs: the debt they send to collection agencies. The hope is many people will go through temporary financial hardships, but if given the opportunity to pay later, they can and will.
