The Pretty Woman hotel. LA has a few truly iconic hotels, this being one of them, and I’d argue the Beverly Hills Hotel, Hotel Bel Air, and Shutters/Casa Del Mar are also on the list. While there is no shortage of great hotels, I’d put this and the Beverly Hills Hotel at the top of the – I’d like to stay there once in my life list. I’ve been lucky enough to stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and while I’ve always wanted to stay at the Beverly Wilshire, I never had…the $1k a night price tag is a bit of a hurdle. I lived in LA, dined at the hotel, and always told myself, someday Zach, someday you’ll stay here. Well, lo and behold, that day came. I was invited to attend an award ceremony in LA, and as part of attending I was given accommodation at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire. What a lucky boy!

So what’s it like?

First Impressions

The hotel towers over the intersection of Wilshire and Rodeo Drive. It truly could not get any posher than this location. While the Peninsula is around the corner and the Beverly Hills Hotel sits atop Sunset BLVD, there isn’t a competitor that truly offers this level of luxury and esteem in the middle of downtown Beverly Hills. This is the spot.

The Lobby

It’s traditional luxury. Gilded, fresh flowers, marble, doormen, aromatic, am I fancy enough to be in here vibes.

Check-In

Despite the exterior size of the hotel, once you’re inside, it’s quite small and intimate. The lobby is focused around a large bouquet of flowers with a balcony that is fun to stand upon and spy on who’s coming and going. The elevators are off the lobby to the right with the main restaurant immediately to your right. Of course, there is a house car that will take you anywhere within a 2.5 mile radius from 1pm to 11pm ( first come first serve ).

We were told we had a Studio Suite that faces Wilshire…room 214

The Room

Neutrals. Calm. Luxurious.

The room was very large featuring a separate seating area, an outdoor patio with access to the roof overlooking downtown Beverly Hills, and a massive bathroom with a separate vanity for makeup, shower, and tub.a room with a table and chairsA reverse angle

This….is the kind of luxury I like. I’m much more of a lover of traditional luxury than I am modern, stark, minimilistic luxury. I like warm colors, comfy beds, crown moldings, thick picture frames, etc. French doors open to a small outdoor space

Bathroom

Not going to fight over space in here. Tho it may look like there is just a single vanity…

The Gym and Pool

Behind the hotel you can access the pool area and gym. It’s a small hotel gym when you consider the size of the hotel, as is the pool really, so if you’re considering plopping down, I’d get there early and grab a spot. In the hot summer days this place is packed, and you can also pop in to grab lunch here – it’s a celeb hotspot.

We had lunch at BLVD and burnt through our per diem in a couple of sandwiches and coffees lol

In the morning they make coffee, tea, snacks and put it next to the front desk.

If I was invited to a function at the hotel again and they were putting me up? Heck yeah, it was amazing. If I was paying this on my own dime. Nah, there are too many places in the city I can use points at, that clearly are not nearly as nice as this, but whenever I’m in LA it’s now for work or to visit the many friends I made while living here for nearly 15 years.

I’m very appreciative of my stay, but that bucket list item has been ticked!
