The Joseph Nashville

Welcome to The Joseph Nashville, where my best bud Dave surprised me with my bachelor party in Late July of 2021. The destination…unknown until we landed in Nashville and arrived at The Joseph.  I had such a good time at The Jospeh that I wanted to bring my family back to experience it, and in fact, prior to 2021 I hadn’t been to Nashville since I was a child.  Over the past couple years, because of the great trip I had in 2021, I’ve revisited many times comparing other hotels to this property.  It still stands out as a fantastic 5 star experience and I was very excited to bring my parents and cousin along this time.

On this trip, I booked 3 rooms, one of me and my dog, another for my parents, and a third for my cousin on a road trip from Atlanta. I hadn’t used up my $200 Amex Platinum Hotel credit, and staying just a single night, when done through Fine Hotels and Resorts, triggers it…so this worked out perfectly.

On my first trip, I was lucky enough to be treated to a Luxury Suite…on this round we each had deluxe rooms which received a one category upgrade. I’ll highlight both rooms below so you can see the difference.

Booking via American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts

The list of benefits can be seen below and were extended to every room that was booked. We had a really cool courtesy extended to us at check out as well. Since we were occupying several rooms on each trip, but they weren’t all full with 2 people, we had some unused credit. On each our of two trips, they knocked off credit across rooms, in this case, knocking the entire pet fee of $150 from my room.

  • Note that each room gets the following benefits

If you were to book with points…

Marriott ditched their award chart and it can be very hit or miss when it comes to booking with Marriott points. On this specific trip, it was a bigtime miss which is why I chose to book with Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts. We booked 3 base rooms for $329 a night but via Marriott was nearly 80k points for a night. That is just absurd frankly.

Arrival

You could easily drive by the entrance of the hotel if you weren’t paying attention, but it’s at the corner of 4th and Korean Veterans just behind the Country Music Hall of Fame. Personally, I loved the location since its a couple of blocks from Broadway, so you’re near the action, but still far enough away to have some peace and quiet. It’s also a roughly 30 minute walk to the Gulch if you were thinking of checking it out too. The hotel feels new, fresh, and has a very contemporary vibe.

We arrived just after 3pm and all of our rooms were ready

The Luxury Suite – First Stay

The Luxury Suite measures roughly 650 sq feet, offers a separate bedroom and bathroom, and distinctly reminds me of the suites at the Delano in Vegas. Sleek, dark wall paper, and has a sexy vibe.

The bathroom is a real stunner with a walk in rain shower complete with an enclosed soaker tub.

2nd Stay – Executive King

You won’t be disappointed with an Executive King room. They are large with luxurious finishes, including an automatic light the turns on if you enter the bathroom at night. Quite a night touch

One aspect of the room that I liked was the moveable desk and seating area with Ottoman shown below. This made doing work quite easy as well as having someone come over to visit, there was extra built-in seating for them. The bed also has plugs built into the side tables

The bathroom does not have a tub, but has a fantastic rain style shower with excellent pressure and the entire room feels very light and airy with tons of natural stone.

Dining

Yolan:

Breakfast is served on the main level in Yolan, which at night, is an incredible Italian restaurant, but also has great a la carte breakfast offerings.

a restaurant with tables and chairs

We basically ordered whatever we wanted, charged it to individual rooms, and as I noted up above, had no issue with it being wiped from the bill.

The Rooftop

The roof of the Joseph has a bar and pool. Very casual, light options, and this is where I hung out a lot on my bachelor party as well as where my family had dinner upon our return.

a pool with lounge chairs and umbrellas

The food was fresh and quite nice; however, the real star is the restaurant off the lobby, Yolan.

The Gym

The gym has some incredible view of Nashville and is adjacent to the Spa. On my first visit, I didn’t have a chance to check it out, and was very impressed on my 2nd stay.

Overall

I would return to the Joseph in a heartbeat. There are a lot of cool properties in Nashville, but having a private rooftop and being a coupe of a blocks away from the craziness of Broadway meant having the best of both worlds whether you’re there for a bachelor weekend in Nashville, or taking the family for a nice one night stay17.
