Review: United Club Los Angeles LAX Terminal 7
I’d been looking forward to visiting the new United Club Los Angeles since it opened last December, and finally everything lined up for me to check it out by using a United Club pass. How did you get that pass? Great question! I received 2 of them when I got a United Explorer card from Chase last year. They’ve been burning a hole in my pocket and this was the PERFECT opportunity to redeem. I have to say…this new United Club is legit. Not as legit as the United Club at Heathrow because that thing is GORG, but this one in terminal 7 is quite solid. You won’t be disappointed.

The Entrance is Sleek
It’s becoming more and more apparent that foreign carriers are pressuring the domestics to up their game. Competition gets a big thumbs up!
Visually the lounge is impressive.
When you get to the top of the escalator, which makes you feel like you’re in TRON, you are greeted with an expansive, open, and airy view of the entire lounge. It’s a strong aesthetic.
They nailed the seating areas. Different configurations: Open, Private, Group, Work, Dining.
One of the most annoying complaints about lounges, especially Amex Centurion Lounges, is that there isn’t any place to sit! The United Club Los Angeles in Terminal 7 takes advantage of its size and accommodates many styles and needs for seating.
There are also private phone booths if you need to make a phone call…or change into Superman
The food options were fine. Nothing special, but fresh.
I did like the coke machine. I love these things where you can mix, match, blend.
Looking to get your drink on? There’s a large bar and it’s fully stocked. BYAH!
Oh…the coolest part because that’s the coldest LA gets… An outdoor space!
I did enjoy walking outside, but you’re at an airport. So unless you’re in serious need of a smoke, I’m not sure you’ll be doing much relaxing outside…unless you’re with company that you don’t want to talk to – then this is perfect because you can’t hear a thing!
Overall:
It’s a VERY SOLID lounge. I’d be interested to visit it later in the day when they have more/different food options. The Admirals Club should be done pretty soon in Terminal 4 and I’m interested to compare the two ( assuming its finished before my Citi Prestige access runs out). If you have access to the lounge via a membership or you’re flying internationally and have status…it’s definitely worth your time and a MASSIVE step up from the terrible lounges that currently litter their network.

I was there about a week ago, and I have to say their breakfast options were lacking. No hot choices except cooked cereal, no protein source at all (how hard is it to put out a few boiled eggs??, no cheese/cold meats trays) and their baked goods were small and tasted like they’d come from a can. Yes, the visuals were impressive but they could put a lot more into the food. I prefer the Seattle club- small and not pretentious, with enough to eke out some sort of meal.

Soft Drink machine is a huge plus. Nothing I hate more than waiting in line for a 4oz cup and being expected to tip. Too bad the food is still mediocre…
