My buddy Spencer, who runs Straightothepoints, just broke the news on his aggregator site, PointsWire, that people are now seeing the ability to book rooms with points an apply a Globalist Suite Upgrade award to the reservation online. Up until this point, which still seems to be rolling out and not widespread, has been something on bookable via phone or email.
This is a massive upgrade and falls in line with Hyatt transitioning to the Sabre booking system in 2024. If you’ve been frustrated with the inability to see award avail, not just pricing, on a month long calendar it was because of their booking system. That will change in 2024…perhaps the ability to add suite upgrades is a part of this process? Either way, both developments are a positive for Hyatt loyalists.
World of Hyatt Members are given the option of Suite Upgrades ( good up to 7 nights on cash, cash+points, and point redemptions ) when they hit 50 elite nights.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.
