Up to $500 The Edit credit is now annual, not $250 semi annual
The Edit credit will no longer be $250 every 6 months, and instead, will be $500 for the year. It still will be in $250 chunks, and requires a 2 night minimum to trigger, but could be used on separate stays in the same month. Note that you can’t do back to back Edit stays ( Thurs/Fri night and then Sat/Sun for instance ) and trigger both $250 credits and it must be pre-paid. This makes it a lot better and easier to use imo.
I used The Edit on a stay in Turks and Caicos and the reimbursement was quick.
New up to $250 credit for Select Chase Hotels
Chase is adding in another hotel credit on specific hotel chains. IHG is the big one here for me since I stay in Intercons and Kimptons quite often.
- IHG Hotels & Resorts,
- Montage Hotels & Resorts,
- Pendry Hotels & Resorts,
- Omni Hotels & Resorts,
- Virgin Hotels,
- Minor Hotels
- Pan Pacific Hotels and Resort
Can you stack these two credits?
I inquired with Chase about this and it was confirmed that yes, indeed, you can. For instance, let’s say I wanted to stay at the Intercontinental Barclay over Valentine’s Day and book via The Edit. Since this is a Chase Travel booking, and I’d be booking prepaid, and let’s say I book it after January 1st of next year, I should trigger both The Edit credit and the new $250 Chase Travel credit since it’s an IHG hotel.
That means I’d get $500 of credits back on a $746 stay and have all of The Edit benefits while I’m on property. If I hadn’t used up my $300 Travel credit that both Sapphire Reserve and Reserve Business come with, I’d tap into that as well.
Pretty awesome I’d say.
Overall
This makes that $795 fee a lot easier to stomach for those who travel a lot. I can now book via Chase Travel, earn points on my stay, and get enough credits to offset the fee of the card without a lot of effort. It won’t be the case for everyone, but it certainly will be for me and my family.
