A couple of quick updates to report on benefits of both the Amex Gold and Amex Hilton Aspire. One benefit of the Amex Gold card that I’ve found a great deal of value in was the 4x points on dining spend. However, this was limited to US restaurants only. This has changed, and according to DOC per TWG, the 4x will extend to dining worldwide. That’s awesome. On the flipside the Amex Hilton Aspire and its $250 annual resort credit is getting slightly. Pre-paid bookings had counted towards the credit, but that will end. It should be noted that room rates should still count upon check out of a completed stay.

Personally I think both of these cards offer incredible value. I use my Gold card all the time, and The Aspire is still on my list to pick up at some point, my fiancee just got one, so at least our household is repping diamond status.

Check out these posts for more in depth reviews of the Gold and Aspire if you’re interested.
