Iberia is no stranger to putting their Avios on sale. The current one is structured with a 50% bonus which isn’t really attractive if you’r buying in dollars. Anything stick out to you? The prices in Euros and Pounds are soooooooooo much cheaper when you factor in the exchange rate.
My address was in the US, but I just changed it to our UK address and it immediately repriced from USD to GBP ( I opened incognito 2 seconds later without a hitch ).
- USD is $4149 for 225k points = $0.01844
- GBP is 2415 for 225k = $0.0117 ( at a $1.09 exchange rate )
- EUR is 2705 for 225k = $0.0117 ( at $0.97 exchange rate )
Buying Iberia Avios for 1.12 cents per piece is incredible
Here’s a look at the Off-peak and Peak pricing for JFK to MAD ranging from 34k to 50k and r/t roughly $106 in surcharges. Roundtrip, that’s 68k to 100k and $250+/- in surcharges which, with this deal, would equate to under $950 to $1250 roundtrip business class to Europe including all of your taxes. Wow. Of course, you need to find the award availability, match it to your dates, and have a UK or European address. But, still…that’s amazing.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

Annual fee remains quite low at $95 a year and if you use the $100 Annual Chase Travel Hotel Credit via Chase Travel℠ you’ll wipe out that annual fee every year. It has great bonus categories and other useful statement credits to enhance your travel.
One thing that is a bummer is Chase lowered the transfer ratio to World of Hyatt from 1:1 to 4:3.
