Bilt Rewards (I’m an advisor and investor ) is continuing to expand its investment and expansion into Neighborhood Rewards – faciliating ways for you to earn more points in the neighborhoods you spend most. Bilt made its mark by being the first rewards program to earn points on Rent without any transaction fees. They’ve expanded into offering a full dining program, bonus points with Lyft, and now you can earn Bilt Points at Walgreens – they’ve even automated FSA/HSA notification for eligible purchases.

And no… you don’t need the Bilt Mastercard® to earn points, you can just use the Bilt Wallet and add one of your own credit cards to it to earn those points alongside BIlt Points at the following rates.

  • 1x Bilt points on all Walgreens purchases,
  • 2x points on Walgreens-branded items,
  • 100 Bilt points on prescription refills
    • subject to certain exclusions
    • Max of 26 transactions per year
    • Must Enable Rewards

Automatic FSA/HSA Savings

Basically Bilt will notify you when certain items qualify as eligible to use your FSA or HSA funds. Pretty awesome!

  1. Automatic FSA/HSA Savings: Members can shop at Walgreens using any linked debit or credit card in their Bilt account. Bilt’s innovative system automatically identifies FSA or HSA eligible items and offers a one-click solution to apply benefits. This feature simplifies healthcare shopping by removing the hassle of knowing which items are eligible for FSA or HSA benefits in advance of purchase.

No brainer

Why wouldn’t you link your credit card that you use at pharmacies and drug stores to earn an extra 1x or 2x at Walgreen’s now? For instance, both the Chase Freedom Flex® and Chase Freedom Unlimited® earn 3x at drugstores…this would mean you could earn those + 1x Bilt points. Yes please. As a Bilt Mastercard holder I would have to have seen a bonus for using the card there, but this is great for everyone else!

I’d love to see Bilt either build their own shopping portal or partner with one a la Amex and Rakuten. This would provide even more ways to earn points on the things I ordinarily buy.

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.

If you carry this card alongside Chase’s cashback cards like the Chase Freedom Flex®  and Chase Freedom Unlimited® or the business versions: Ink Business Cash® , Ink Business Unlimited® you can combine the points into Preferred account and transfer into hotel and airline partners

Annual fee is quite low at $95 a year + you get a 10% anniversary bonus on points + $50 hotel credit in Chase travel.

    Earn points for paying rent!

This is Honestly the best no fee card there is. I used 22,000 bilt points and $80 to fly from San Francisco to Barcelona this summer via Air Blue (Air France).
I Highly recommend it. Plus, on the first day of the month, you get 6X points per dollar at restaurants. That’s like the $600 annual fee Amex cards cards.
It’ worth at Least Checking it out!! I’ve earned over 117,000 points in a year so far. And just by linking your airline accounts, you will get 1,000 points for EACH airline!!!
Plus just use it for rent. That you Have to pay Anyways. I get about 25k points in just rent each year. 😄
