Last Day: Up to 100k Bonus AA miles when you buy or gift miles.

This deal has been running since the beginning of June and expires today at 11:59:59 CT. Originally the deal included another 10% discount, but that offer expired on July 8th. Buying miles is completely is something that I recommend when there is immediate utility for the miles. It’s typically not prudent, nor something I’d recommend, if you’re just looking to stockpile. Devaluations can happen very quickly as we’ve seen in the past. However, if you need extra miles to make a trip happen, and you see space available this could be a great opportunity to buy and get up to a 100k bonus AA miles.

Best deal is to buy the most – Mileage man commented that I had forgotten taxes…SO I updated thanks to him. Thank you!

  • Buy 150k get 250k = $0.0191/mile

$0.0191 per mile is pretty good deal. If you were to use this to buy business class tickets at 57,500 you’d be outright paying $1100.98 each way. That’s without the 10% discount on miles that you’d save as well if you had a cobranded card like the Barclay Aviator, Citi Platinum AA, or Citi Executive card. That’s not a bad deal at all. Are there better deals out there? Yes from time to time biz will drop below $2k or even $1500, but I’d say you’d only want to buy these points if you knew you had a specific redemption in mind. If you can’t buy the tickets for cheaper than $1100.98 each way…buy the points.
