Capital One has debuted their second Washington DC called the Capital One Landing at DCA. I’m a huge fan of Capital One lounges, in fact, I’d argue they are nicer than the Centurion Lounges Amex has; however, there aren’t many to choose from…unless you’re from DC which now has them at both DCA and IAD. Lucky guns. The lounge will feature epicurean creations from MICHELIN-starred Chef José Andrés.

What’s the difference between a Lounge and a Landing?

Landings aren’t full lounges, and will be at smaller airports across the country. The first one is here at DCA, another is due to open at LGA. Please, please, open one in Indianapolis 🙂

You won’t find showers, but you will have plenty of space to work, plug in a device, grab a cocktail, a snack, but…..

On-the-fly

We’ve become accustomed to taking food away with us in to-go packages from the Cap1 lounges. At this lounge, if you want to order food to-go, you’ll have to pay for it, and it’s open to anyone, not just Cap1 members. If you carry a Venture X or Venture X Business you’ll get 50% off your purchase from “on-the-fly.”

  • Venture X and Venture X Business cardholders receive 50% off purchases from the On-the-Fly quick-service experience. All other travelers, including non-cardholders, can purchase à la carte offerings from On-the-Fly.
  • Cardholder must be present for guests to receive access.

Overall

I was just at DCA this past weekend and missed the opening! This looks like an awesome concept, and while I would love to have free food to go, it’s nice to still have the tapas served in the lounge, and we will see if paying 50% the cost of the to-go food is worth it.
