Park Hyatt is the best the Hyatt brand gets

I have World of Hyatt Explorist status for another year which, if you didn’t know, is Hyatt’s midtier status. The biggest value in keeping explorist lies solely in the 4 club level upgrades that you get each year. I love club level, especially in the Middle East and Asia where you get UNBELIEVABLE amounts of food and beverage for breakfast and dinner, and can save some real $$$ on the trip. Plus, you just feel soooooooo exclusive having access. However, club level typically comes with staying at Grand Hyatts and Hyatt Regencies, but not with the Park Hyatt brand.

Park Hyatt is Hyatt’s top tier brand ( barring Miraval) and are typically a fraction the size of a Grand or Regency property. In fact, there are only 38 Park Hyatts in the entire world, and only 3 of them have club levels: Melbourne, Canberra, and Hamburg.

I’ve included not only some pics of the hotels below, but also how many points it would take to stay at each one. Remember, you can use your certs on a points only booking, and a cash + points booking, but you can’t apply it to a free night certificate ( from status or credit card).

Park Hyatt Canberra: Category 4, 15k per night.

  • […] The Langham is the grand dame of Melbourne and is situated smack on the Yarra with great access to the thriving riverfront. If you’re looking for a great deal with points, I’d recommend the Park Hyatt, cat 5, or Grand Hyatt, cat 4. In fact, the Park Hyatt Melbourne, cat 5, is one of the few Park Hyatts in the world that offer a club level. […]
