American Express Uber Credits
One of the benefits of an American Express Platinum card and American Express Gold card is the monthly Uber credits. The Amex Platinum offers $200 a year in Uber credit split into $15 monthly credits with a $35 credit in December. Amex Gold gives cardholders a $10 monthly uber credits.
These Uber credits can be used for Uber rides or Uber Eats which makes the benefit more versatile. But, what if more than one person in a family carries an Amex Platinum or an Amex Gold? Can you load those credits onto a single Uber account? The answer is yes.

When I lived in Los Angeles, I made use of Uber all the time; however, my parents rarely used their credit in the midwest. So, for the last few years we’ve been loading their card onto my Uber account so I’d have access to their Uber Credit. The credit doesn’t go to waste this way plus I’d always let them know if I got a tasty meal from Uber Eats on their credit.
I now have 5 Amex cards linked to my Uber profile. Between my parents and I we carry 3 Amex Gold cards and 2 Amex Platinums. That’s $60 a month in Uber credits loaded on my card every month, and in December…a whopping $100.
That’s a ton of monthly uber credit! Obviously…this requires giving someone your account info, so don’t do it if you don’t trust them.
American Express Platinum and Gold Uber Benefits
I found with both of these benefits that simply adding my Amex to my Uber account enrolled me. However, if for some reason this doesn’t work, you can do so here as well.

How do you do it? So simple…just load the card on your account
Go to add payments and throw the card on it.
Once you’ve done so, close and restart the app. The credits should appear
Which breaks down into the month and card…

Which credits are applied first, Uber credits or Amex credits?
Dennis – I couldn’t accurately tell you between the two as I only have Amex credits on the account, no uber credits per se.
Hello, I would love your help. I am trying to give my uber credits to my daughter. Right now she is set up as a family member and has my Platinum loaded into her account for payment. The credit isn’t showing up for her, how do I have the credit go to her account?
Try delinking your card from her account, and if her additional cardmember is attched, delink it as well. Then just relink your card and see what happens
Now that your parent’s AMEX Platinum credit card info is loaded in your Uber account for primary payment, can your parents have the same AMEX Platinum credit card numbers loaded into their own accounts?
So, do you have to toggle between the various Amex Platinum cards loaded every month to make one of the Uber charges from that primary card and then move it to secondary once it’s charged? I am not sure I follow your methodology in your post.
Each amex adds cumulatively, and each uber ride eats off the total so no toggling is required.
This is good to know. Do you know if one can toggle the accounts back and forth? For instance let your parents use the credit if they are in a city like NY and then put it back on your card when they are home?
I believe you’d have to delete the payment option and add it to another account
