Super straight forward business card.

2x on every single purchase up to $50k a year, then 1x on additional purchases after that threshold is met

I use this in tandem with other Amex cards that have category bonuses, and throw spend on the Blue Business Plus when I can’t earn a higher multiple

  • No Annual Fee. (Rates and Fees)
  • Earn 2X points on everyday business purchases such as office supplies or client dinners. 2X applies to the first $50,000 in purchases per year, 1 point per dollar thereafter. Terms and limitations apply.
  • You’ve got the power to spend beyond your credit limit* with Expanded Buying Power. *The amount you can spend above your credit limit is flexible, so it adapts with your use of the Card, your payment history, credit record, financial resources known to us, and other factors. Just remember, the amount you can spend with Expanded Buying Power is not unlimited.
  • No Annual Fee
  • *Rates and Fees; terms apply

We keep an up to date spreadsheet that lists what the highest offers: You can find that spreadsheet here.

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

Does this count against your 5/24?

Amex does not report business cards on your personal credit report, so this will not add to your Chase 5/24 number

Is this the best offer ever?

The best ever has been 50k after $12k spend in 12 months. That Referral offer comes and goes. You should definitely reference our best offers spreadsheet

You may be a small business and not know it.

Do you tutor as a side gig? Buy and Sell on Ebay for profit? Perhaps you consult to subsidize your income. Blog, Vlog, or get paid to walk the dog? All of these things, and similar activities, may actually qualify you to be a sole proprietor and thus…a small business.  Why not have a card that segregates all those expenses and make your life easier come tax time.

You can read all about Small Business Credit Cards here

If you’re earning income on a 1099, you’re good to go. Some examples of those are…

  • Online Coaches, tutors, etc
  • Uber and Lyft drivers (assuming they still get 1099s whenever you’re reading this).
  • DoorDash, GrubHub and Postmates
  • Social Media income ( TikTok, Instagram, YouTube )
  • Cater Waiters
  • Personal Trainers
  • Dog Walkers
  • Freelance graphic designers and web designers
  • Singers, artists, dancers, models, etc
  • Virtual Assistants
  • Ebay, Amazon and Facebook resellers

Here’s how it works with our site and referrals: do not spam post or I’ll block your referral

First off, this is meant to help everyone. So, if you’re posting your referral a dozen times a day, week, month, and trying to manipulate the comment section, I’m going block your referral for abuse. No ifs ands or buts –  if I see you’re doing it, or you’re flagged by another use, I’ll just block you from ever posting. Let’s not ruin a good thing.

We earn commission when you use our links via our partner Cardratings or CreditCards.com and are really grateful when you do, but we also publish other deals that may be attractive to you. Referrals, are one of those other deals, and is a way we can give back to you for supporting us since you earn a referral bonus when someone uses your link.

We want to give you an opportunity to earn some valuable points as well, and so this is how we go about doing it.

  1. We add our own referrals first
    • Because we use a ton of points every year and publish reviews of the flight and hotels we take, but we quickly max out
  2. We add those of friends and family to load up their accounts
    • Once those are maxed out
  3. We then import your links from the comments section below to help you out.
    • We usually leave those up for a few weeks and cycle through them, or when we get an email notifying us that someone’s account has maxes out

You can also leave referrals for

*I would note that you get more action when the referral is correlated to the article.

2x on everything

As I mentioned up above, you get 2x on every single purchase, up to $50k a year, then 1x

Referrals

I make 55k a year, per card, on every single Amex that I keep in my wallet.  If you’re a regular reader of the blog, you know that I push my links first, then family and friends, and ultimately you guys. I run contests and promos where you can win a featured slot, but also just randomly select links you add in the comments section. Feel free to add your referrals down below.

Overall

This is a card that I keep in my wallet and use all the time, it’s been in our Monkey Miles top cards since it was introduced, and fills in the category bonus gaps that mean you never earn less than 2 Membership Rewards per dollar spent. That’s pretty fantastic.
