Hyatt’s promos

I was really hoping for a double elite night promo to match what we’ve seen from Hilton, Marriott, and IHG at some point this year. All of the indications from the competitor brands is that travel, and elite status, has taken a bit of a hit this year and incentives were needed to help customers choose one brand over another. That doesn’t seem to be the case with Hyatt ( at least not in the Americas on non-Hyatt Place/House brands ). I thought for sure we would see some kind of late 2024, broad, promotion for the Americas, but at least thus far, the best promotion to send us into 2025 will be for Hyatt Place/House and non-Americas hotels. Let’s take a look below, at the current offers.

What are some of my favorite Hyatt stays?

I have used points to stay at the following properties

Don’t forget that Chase Ultimate Rewards are a transfer part of Hyatt

You can instantly move Chase Ultimate Rewards 1:1 into World of Hyatt. I have done this countless times and it provides a great way to shore up a Hyatt account.

I’m excited for a great promo whereby we can earn World of Hyatt points, but this is a great way to earn some extra Etihad Guest Miles

We keep an up to date spreadsheet that lists the best ever offers: You can find that spreadsheet here.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.

If you carry this card alongside Chase’s cashback cards like the Chase Freedom Flex®  and Chase Freedom Unlimited® or the business versions: Ink Business Cash® , Ink Business Unlimited® you can combine the points into Preferred account and transfer into hotel and airline partners

Annual fee is quite low at $95 a year + you get a 10% anniversary bonus on points + $50 hotel credit in Chase travel.

Just curious about strategy on cards and points. If you were to have 1 night at Hyatt Place and 2 nights at Hyatt during this period but for 17 rooms – what strategy would you use to get the most points (including signing up for new cards). All rooms paid by one card and all points to one account.

Second, would you book say 3 rooms at normal rate and the other 14 as a group booking – does that make sure you get the most points?

    Another tips/advice/help will be appreciated

hayat hotel chain is best in the world

  • Big fan December 9, 2021

Why are you surprised that Hyatt status is extended, and do you mean into 2024? Did they mention extension of status?

    • Miles December 9, 2021

It was a typo…surprised it ‘isn’t” extended. Marriott, Hilton, IHG have all extended but Hyatt hasn’t.

  • Christian July 8, 2021

IIRC you’re the one who tuned me in to Hyatt Prive, which has served me well. Do Prive bookings count?

    • Miles July 8, 2021

I believe Prive is an eligible rate and happy to hear you’re getting good value out of it!

  • Shawn February 23, 2021

You’re the man, Zach! 4 nights away from Globalist. Where’s the merch link?!
