Straight to the point. The Park Hyatt London is gorgeous. If you like the the modern, minimal luxury that Park Hyatt has shaped its reputation around, this hotel lives up to every single aspect of that, and then some. The staff was superb, the breakfast was fantastic, and the room has gorgeous views ( even without an upgrade – which they are quite known for at this point because of lower occupancy, except on our visit).  But the location sucks for tourists. You’re on the wrong side of the river, amidst a major construction zone, and despite being close to a Clipper stop on the Thames, and the tube, you’re a little bit in no-man’s land if there for anything other than work in the hotel or nearby. That said, I’d return in a heartbeat because none of that really matters that much to me, and the hotel is worth being a bit out of the way if you’re down to indulge.

We booked this hotel very last minute. We had to delay our return to the states due to illness and we camped out at the Park Hyatt for 4 nights. Had we booked almost any time other than these 4 nights I could have attached a suite upgrade and locked in a suite for us…lots of avail. For our time, no dice.

Remember, Hyatt is a transfer partner of both Chase and Bilt Rewards

Location:

The wrong side of the river, but close to the American Embassy and Battersea Power Station.

Check-in

Globalist recognized. No upgrade…sadly the hotel was so full.

The Room

Gorgeous with a separate room for the bathroom which featured a ToTo bidet. Love.

a bathroom with a toilet and sink

Bathroom had a separate shower and tub.

a bathroom with a mirror and a tub

The views were amazing, but I’ve seen some from the River Suites which are on the corner and they are drop dead gorgeous.

We had a lot of warm light no matter the time of the day, and I’ve stayed so high up in London. I know the Shangri-la is at the Shard which features similar height views, but this is something to enjoy!

Dining

Breakfast is served on the main level, just off the lobby. You can order anything off the menu as well as enjoy the buffet. We weren’t given any restrictions really, so we indulged and it was all included.

The is also a lovely bar that you see immediately when you enter

And a wine bar on the 2nd floor that features Thames views.

Pool/Gym

A VERY nice gym with lots of light, but for the time being faces a construction site.

a room with treadmills and exercise equipment

The pool is modern, sleek, and hardly ever had anyone in it.

Overall

I would stay here time and time again, but be warned…the location is a 15 min walk to the Battery Power Station, and you’re a long way away from the normal touristy things you’d do when in London.

“Battery Power Station” lol – I think you mean Battersea Power Station. Also the hotel is only a 5 minute walk from Vauxhall tube station which makes it very convenient for central London attractions.
