I’m probably not alone in loving the look and style of designer clothing. It’s probably no surprise, since I write a blog about deals, that I ABSOLUTELY HATE PAYING RETAIL. Sorry..I got worked up there, but it’s the truth.  So when the opportunity arises to make some seriously discounted purchases on some nice threads…I’m all in. Enter: Amex Offers, a cashback portal, and 7 for Mankind

If you’re not familiar with 7, they’re a luxury jeans and casual apparel company, and for my body type, they fit me really well. I live in Los Angeles, so I’ve made many a trek to the outlet malls in Camarillo to buy 7 at a discount. Now, with Amex Offers, and some nifty tricks – we can actually Quad stack to get some insane deals. Let’s go through my thinking.

Sidenote: Amex Offers are one of the biggest reasons I keep 4 American Express cards: Amex Platinum, Amex Business Platinum, Amex Gold, and Amex Blue for Business

Discount #1: 7 still has many of their items on sale post Christmas. My $686 down to $286

Case in point:

  • T-shirt $69 for $39
  •  Jean Jacket $269 for $79
  • Khakis $179 for $69
  • $169 pair of jeans for $99
  • Total: $686 for $286

Stack #2: Sign up for 7 email list and get $20 off your first order over $150. My Order down to $266

Discount 3: Top Cash Back is offering 4% back on orders: My order down to $255.36

And Discount 4: Amex Offers spend $250, get $75. My $686 worth clothes are reduced down to to $180.36 or almost 1/4 the price.

You’ll notice there isn’t any specifically precluding sale items and the $75 back is good for online purchases. BINGO!

How to do it?

First, add your targeted amex offer to that card’s profile online.

Second, You’d need to populate the 7 for mankind site via Top Cash Back. If you use my link I get $10 and so do you, so you’d even get a bigger discount.

3rd, once the site is populated, you’d sign up for their email list. Receive the email and then add your items to your shopping cart.

4th, At check out, use the promo code and pay with the Amex that you added the offer to. Voila… Stacks on stacks on stacks.

The Point:

Designer clothing may not be your jam, but the strategy can be employed in a lot of situations. Get your savings and look like a champ. More lux, less bucks -> Byah!

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.

Great stacking info Miles. I have 7forallMankind on my Amex Platinum for 7,500 miles if you spend $250. I used the $20 coupon you mentioned plus the 4% at Ebates (which also now get Membership Rewards so I got 1,000 more points for that).

    Thanks for great info.

Glad you were able to make great use!

You must not like deals that much since you even consider a plain t-shirt that has an initial “sale” price of $39 :/ Thanks for the stacking info!

I think you’re looking at “value” not the deal…it’s 40% off before Amex, Top Cash Back, or the email discounts. If you don’t value it at that price…totally get it, but your valuation doesn’t mean it isn’t a deal for others.
