How to combine Chase Ultimate Rewards between accounts

I thought it’d be advantageous to show you how you can move points between accounts…it’s the same whether you move from a Chase Freedom Flex(SM) or Chase Freedom Unlimited® to a Chase Sapphire Preferred® or Chase Sapphire Reserve® as it is from an Chase Ink Business Unlimited® or Chase Ink Business Cash® to a Chase Ink Business Preferred® as I show down below.

I’ve noticed that the option to combine points has been removed from any card that I have, my wife has, or my parents have that earns flexible Ultimate Rewards, and they are only populating on cashback cards. Weird.

Hope this helps!

Step 1: Log in, select a card, and Go to “Redeem Ultimate Rewards”

This can also be done by going to www.ultimaterewards.com and logging in, but this is what it would look like when you log in to Chase.com. If you go ultimaterewards.com you’ll skip this step.

Step: 3: Click Reward Details

Once you’re inside your Ultimate Rewards account, you’ll see the following screen. Click the Rewards Details drop down menu. Only certain cards will have the “Combine Points” option.

Not all of my accounts are targeted to combine points. For instance, here is my Chase Freedom Unlimited® and you can clearly see under “Reward Details” that I have the option to combine points.

Step 4: Select the accounts to transfer from and to:

Step 6: Review your order

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.

If you carry this card alongside Chase’s cashback cards like the Chase Freedom Flex℠and Chase Freedom Unlimited® or the business versions: Ink Business Cash® , Ink Business Unlimited® you can combine the points into Preferred account and transfer into hotel and airline partners

Annual fee is quite low at $95 a year + you get a 10% anniversary bonus on points + $50 hotel credit in Chase travel.
